What clothes should I wear? Expand

Any comfortable clothes such as loose trousers, leggings or jogging bottoms and a T-shirt are fine to start with. Remove jewellery and footwear is not important because you will train without shoes and socks. Also, remember to bring a water bottle.

How fit do you have to be to start karate? Expand Every fitness level is welcome as our classes cater for beginners through to advanced levels. Our instructors will assess your fitness level and ease you into a training regime to ensure you don’t overexert yourself or cause pain. Please let your instructor know if you have a disability or any injuries. Will karate help with my fitness? Expand Karate is the best martial arts for overall fitness. You will get a full body workout, reducing the risk of cardiovascular issues, improve your strength, and burn fat. The kicks and the punches will also work your core muscles like nothing else. Karate will help you with your fitness and you will become stronger, both mentally (depression and anxiety) and physically. Is this a safe environment? Expand Our Diamond Dojo at Team Rankine Karate is a state-of-the-art training centre in Wigston that has been used by the national England karate team. This is a dedicated facility, offering a safe environment for students to train. How do I achieve my next belt? Expand

Gradings are held once every three months where students will take a practical exam. The more classes you attend and work hard you will find yourself progressing to the next belt.

Can I try a class before I decide to join? Expand Of course. At Team Rankine Karate, your first session is completely FREE, and you are under no obligation to join.
