Senpai Ysabel's Bio & Photo - Team Rankine
I was introduced to the world of karate when my little sister decided she wanted to join a ‘fight club’. I was 9 years old when I started my karate journey. I struggled with confidence from a very young age and it took a few weeks before I plucked up the courage to take part in a class. I loved it instantly. Â
Over the years karate has given me discipline, by competing I have learned to manage stressfulÂ
situations and focus on my goal. While doing exams at school and dealing with daily life pressures karate has given me an outlet I can use to focus my mind and clear my thoughts.
With the support of my family, Sensei Michael, and my team I kept going, and with some encouragement attended my first competition. I am now part of the Midlands Regional Team and the England National Team.
My greatest achievement was my grading to blackbelt, my journey began. I have the pleasure of teaching and helping at Team Rankine Karate which has helped me develop skills I can use in other aspects of my lifeÂ
My future goal is to fight for England at the Olympics.Â
